Our Teachers


Teacher Carol Jobe


Carol was our first teacher and is such a jewel, She has more than 35 years experience in pre-school teaching in the Pniel and Stellenbosch areas. She is a organiser and loves organising our events and concerts. She is truly a mother figure to our little ones. She is currently our Gr R teacher.

Cleshaundre Adams


Cleshaundre has joined our Gr R class as a teachers assistant. She is 21 years old and lives in Kylemore. She attended PC Peterson primary school herself as a young girl, and matriculated in 2013 at Kylemore secondary school.She is also a member of the Old Apostle church’s youth leadership group.

Teacher Sheila Williams


A local girl from Kylemore, Sheila is a real treasure for our after care. She was head girl in Kylemore Highschool and is currently studying teaching through Unisa. Sheila’s calm and relaxed personality makes her a big hit with the kiddies. She is currently our Gr 2 teacher.

Loren Vermeulen


Loren is a young, vibrant local from Kylemore. She has experience in pre- school assistance work in the valley and now she is the Gr 1 assistant with teacher Sheila. Loren facilitates our reading eggs computer reading programmes and is also studying teaching through Unisa

Teacher Maniley Martin


Our energetic Gr 1 teacher, Maniley Martin, grew up in the hamlet of Lanquedoc, in the Banhoek valley. She has studied early childhood development. She cares very much for the children in our area, and believes in responsibility and fairness. She enjoys working at Aitsa, making a difference in every childs life and seeing their smiling faces every day!

Krystal Mowers


Krystal is married with 2 children. She loves good company and loves the Lord. She was born in Kylemore and still lives there. Krystal has a passion for children and loves to share life lessons with them. She always gives her best in all she does.

Teacher Jonelene September

Jonelene is our Gr 3 teacher, and also lives in Kylemore.  She studied Early childhood development because she wants to make a difference in the world.

Theresa Martin


Theresa is mother to 3 children and lives in beautiful Languedoc. She is a devout Christian.

Teacher Melissa van der Merwe

Melissa started volunteering at Aitsa in 2016 and immediately became part of the family. This year she is our new grade 4 teacher. She is also a  youth pastor and is driving our education and parent support program.

Deidre Alberts


Deidre lives in Kylemore. Her love for reading led her to AITSA! She is currently studying towards her teaching certificate. Her vision is to start a reading centre at AITSA one day.

Our Kitchen Staff


Shirley Ferguson


Shirley, a mother of one of our kiddies, offered her services as a volunteer last year when we started. It was not long before we realised she has a heart of gold and she is now our cook- creating beautiful meals from a limited budget. That takes a lot of skill!

Rozanne Apollis


Rozanne has grown up in beautiful Kylemore. She has been married for 8 years and has 2 beautiful kids. In her own words: “God has blessed me with a wonderful job at Aitsa to prepare food for the children, and to make sure that they can walk into a clean classroom. This is giving me laughter and joy in this little small heart of mine!”

Praline lives in Kylemore and is currently assisting us with the Doen en Leer reading programme.

Lara Franzen

Lara is our social worker. Her calling is working with  families to help them overcome their challenges through emotional and physical support.
